Capt M Tariqul Islam, (S), psc, BN (P No 821) assumed the command of Naval Stores Depot Chattogram as commanding officer on 02 February 2020. During his career, Capt M Tariqul Islam did all most all professional courses at home and abroad. Namely, he has done junior staff course conducted in Bangladesh Naval Academy. He did Ships officer Diving Course in Bnagladesh and later selected and successfully completed special warfare basic course in South Korea. He did his supply and Secretariat Advance Course in Bangladesh and later on selected for Long Logistics and Management Course in India. Where, he was awarded as best foreign officer of the course with a medal. He is an alumnae of Defense Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur. The officer has significant contribution in peace building and served under blue helmet in war torn Liberia. He served there as UNMO and appointed as operation officer in sector Headquarter. During his long and illustrious career in the Navy, Capt M Tariqul Islam, (S), psc, BN successfully served as inventory management, material management, procurement management and operational logistic activities in Bangladesh Navy. He was also involved in educating and training of logistic branch officers and sailors of Bangladesh Navy as Officer In-charge School of Logistics and Management. The officer served in Naval Headquarters as staff officer, Deputy Director and finally as Director Pay, Pension & Accounts. The officer is appointed as Chief Inspector of Naval Stores, undertaking responsibility of inspection of different procured items of Bangladesh Navy.
He is happily married to Mrs Farhana Benta Ahmed and they are blessed with a son and a daughter.
